ALTAR GUILD
The ministry of the Altar Guild
is to reverently care for and prepare the Sanctuary for worship and ensure all things are in order so that every aspect of the Sanctuary welcomes and allows all who worship and lead worship to feel a true sense of the dignity, grace and gift of gathering as a community to Love and Serve the Lord.
The altar guild members are most often the unsung heroes of a parish, laboring behind the scenes during the week to ensure the appointments are polished and cared for, linens are laundered and ironed, candles, oil, sufficient bread and wine are on hand, and vestments are in good order.
The Guild partners with the Flower Guild, who order and arrange flowers or other items to beautify the Altar and chancel during various seasons and festive and solemn occasions, and who assist the Altar Guild in changing the dossal seasonally.
The Altar Guild is composed of communicants who are assigned duties every 4-5 weeks. Grace Church Altar Guild and Flower Guild welcome new members at any time - no experience needed. If you are interested in these special ministries contact the church office or Lisa Hildebrand at 856-522-9446.
