The Vestry and Wardens are Blessed to Announce the call of The Rev. Neil K. Raman as the Rector of Grace Church.
The Rev. Neil K. Raman is a native of East Islip, New York. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Chicago. After college, Neil worked as a private tutor on Long Island, planted a campus ministry, and was later a member of St. Hilda’s House, an intentional Christian community and Episcopal Service Corps site in New Haven, Connecticut. He received a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. For the last five years, he has served at Calvary Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since 2018, first as Associate Rector and later as Senior Associate Rector. Before his time in Pittsburgh, he served as Curate at Calvary Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Neil has a love for teaching, church history, and the liturgy. He is an avid reader, a double bassist, a cyclist, and loves to cook, especially South Indian food and bread.
Neil is married to Elizabeth Gassler, a classically trained cellist and Suzuki educator. In late February, they welcomed their first child, Matthew. They share their home with a wonderfully quirky black cat named Maisie.
